Purpose
To encourage the study of nondestructive testing (NDT) as a profession by providing financial assistance to individuals pursuing a program of study at a college or technical school within the State of Texas, leading to a degree in NDT, welding, engineering, and/or physical science.
Eligibility for Scholarship
To be eligible, the applicant must be from the South Texas Section area, completed one year and/or currently enrolled in related course work (NDT, welding, engineering and/or physical science) at a technical school, college, or university in Texas in the South Texas Section area. Scholarship Award
A Scholarship, expected to be about $500, may be awarded to the individual whom the Scholarship Award Committee determines is most deserving. The applicant shall comply with all the procedures and rules set forth by the South Texas Secion of ASNT.
The award will be made at one of the regular chapter meetings or the convenience of the awardee and Scholarship Committee. Chairman.
Number of Scholarship Awards Per Year
There shall be neither a minimum nor a maximum number of scholarships awarded each year. If there are no acceptable recipients in a given year or if funds do not permit, then the South Texas Section of ASNT is not obligated to make an award. However, if there are several equal candidates and funds permit, then more than one scholarship award maybe be made.
Scholarship Awards Committee
The scholarship award committee shall be composed of a minimum of three members, two of which shall be the South Texas Section Directors. The Chairman of the South Texas Section will appoint members of the committee, with the approval of the Executive Committee. Submission of Scholarship Award Application
